Disaster Response Program of WSE was continued during the year also. There were few activities to be completed of the previous year. The rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities carried out in the Archdiocesan area under the leadership of Welfare Services Ernakulam was successfully completed.

During the year we have witnessed flood and landslides hit the Malabar region of Kerala causing huge causalities to the lives, livestock and agriculture land of the people. We could mobilize good amount from our local parishes as a remarkable display of solidarity at times of great disasters. The organization supported 9 Dioceses of the Malabar Region for the reconstruction of the houses using the local fund raised from our community. There was an enormous response in mobilizing resources to assist the victims of the flood.

WSE could coordinate the works carried out by the DSSS and materialize the dreams of hundreds of victims in the region for housing and house renovation activities. This was a great humanitarian mission of rebuilding communities severely affected by the flood and landslides.
